TODAY IN COMIC BOOK HISTORY: DEC. 1965
Although The Inhumas are having a sort of comeback recently, for most of their long history they were very much C-Listers with very little recognition. First Showing up in the pages of Fantastic Four #45, soon they would have back-ups in Thor and other titles as well. In 1975 they got their own book that lasted 12 issues.
Created by Kirby & Lee, The Inhumans are a race of genetically altered humans whose history goes back millions of years. During the first Kree/Skrull war the Kree experimented on primitive humans to discover a way to advance their own soldiers in the war. The Kree quickly abandoned them in fear of their work destroying the Kree empire. The Inhumans eventually formed their own society, developing advance technology, including the Terregin Mist that awakens a special power inside Inhumans.
The Inhumans are lead by a king, Black Bolt, and his Inhuman Royal Family. Although preferring to be shut away from Earth and it’s heroes, The Inhumans have aided them against some very imposing threats as well as appearing in some of Marvel’s biggest crossovers/mini-series.
